Former Tottenham striker Fernando Llorente wants to take revenge on Liverpool after the hurt of losing the Champions League final.

The Spaniard came off the bench in the game but was unable to make an impact as Jurgen Klopp 's side went on to win 2-0.

He said: "It was painful to lose the final, it's certainly revenge but above all it's an opportunity to show that we can stay at their level."

Llorente scored two goals for Spurs in last season's competition, including the decisive goal against Manchester City which saw his side progress to the semi-finals.

The striker believes the Premier League experience of Napoli's manager Carlo Ancelotti could help his side but said they would have to be at their best to get something from the game.

"He knows it well, he studied it better than anyone," he said. "It will require a perfect game, great football, without mistakes because they are very strong when they steal the ball and go. They have many qualities and make you pay for every mistake."
