The deadline-day arrival from Fulham is in line to make his Spurs debut against Crystal Palace on Saturday, having spent the international break training with a skeleton first-team squad after recovering from a hamstring problem.
The 19-year-old is expected to be on the bench against Palace at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, but Pochettino says he has all the tools to follow in the footsteps of Harry Kane, Dele Alli, Harry Winks and others in north London.
“Ryan's season [last term] shows that you can be a very good player, but you need a platform, team-mates and good coaching staff to help you,” Pochettino told Standard Sport.
“And then you need time, luck, training hard and hard work. Sometimes people don't realise that for a player with talent, to be successful you need a platform. And Tottenham, I hope, will provide Ryan with that platform.
"It's the platform that provided for Dele Alli, Harry Kane and Harry Winks and other players who were very successful in their moment. I hope that happens with him, too, because he's a great talent.”
