Ferland Mendy has stoked up the tension between Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain by revealing he previously rejected the chance to join the Ligue 1 champions.
Mendy, born on the outskirts of Paris, spent eight years at the Parc des Princes as a youth player before switching to Le Havre.
And when the chance came to return to PSG in 2017, Mendy was not 'interested' and instead chose to sign for rivals Lyon.
'There was a chance to join PSG then, but the truth is, I was not really interested,' Mendy told French channel Canal+.
'I had already agreed to join Lyon at that stage and I had already left PSG earlier in my career, after they had given me the opportunity in their youth teams after I thought I may need an amputation.
'I am from Paris and my family will be at the match on Tuesday, it will be a special occasion for me.'
More to follow.
